Zotero Guide

UTA Libraries' guide to the citation management tool Zotero

Step 2: Configure Library Lookup for UTA full-text access

1. In Zotero, open the Preferences menu by clicking on "Edit" and then clicking on "Preferences".

2. In the "Preferences" pop-up window, navigate to the "Advanced" tab.

3. Look for the "OpenURL" section. There, type in the resolver as https://uta.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/openurl?institution=01UTAR_INST&vid=01UTAR_INST:Services&

  • If you are on campus, click the "Search for resolvers" button, which should automatically retrieve the URL listed above. If it does not, you will have to manually add the URL by following the instructions above.

4. Click "OK" to close the "Preferences" window, which completes the configuration process.

5. To use the Library Lookup feature, select an item in your library and click on the "Locate" button (the right-pointing green arrow icon) for options to find and view the item. Choose "Library Lookup" and a window for full text at UTA will open.

Why?

  • The Library Lookup (OpenURL) feature in Zotero allows you to connect to the UTA full-text linking tool to automatically search the UTA Libraries electronic holdings and find the full text of an item in your Zotero library that is available only by library subscription. Zotero also provides a list of known OpenURL resolvers from institutions around the world.
