Zotero is an open-source online citation management tool (CMT) that enables users to create, manage, and format all their citations from books, journal articles, websites, and other types of sources. It has plugins that allow it to be easily used with the word processors Microsoft Word (including Word for Mac) and LibreOffice as well as with Google Docs. Any created Zotero account is a personal account (not a UTA account). Zotero provides 300 MB of free storage.
It is especially well suited to Internet-based research. It is also relatively easy to use. Zotero is a good CMT for liberal arts and social sciences majors, as well as anyone who has not used another CMT before.
