Zotero Guide

Zotero is a citation management tool and research assistant. It links with your web browser and word processor and makes managing and citing references easier.

Zotero is an open source project of the non-profit Corporation for Digital Scholarship. Full feature accounts are free and come with up to 300 MB of storage.

Zotero is actively maintained by a volunteer community and supported for platforms including Windows, MacOS, and Linux.

Zotero is a reference manager. It helps you collect, organize, and structure records.

You can store information about anything that could be referenced in an academic paper from websites and journal articles to movies and personal communications.

You can connect to your web browser and word processor and automate large parts of the reference process including citation formatting and bibliography creation.

You can create records from the embedded information in a database or website or from an identifier like a DOI or ISBN.

You can create custom records.

Zotero supports the major citation styles including APA, Chicago, IEEE, and MLA from download and has a style repository with almost any style you can imagine.

Zotero allows for collaborative sharing of references and allows remote access to your references from anywhere with a web page.

You can annotate, take notes, and custom tag.
