Open Education at UTA

UTA Libraries provide support for members of the UTA community to enable participation in local, regional, and national OER conferences and events. Applicants are required to include a statement about why they are interested in attending the conference and what they hope to gain from the experience.

Applications to present on OER at disciplinary conferences will be considered; a departmental match may be required.

Applications require a statement about why you are interested in participating in the conference. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please note the following:
  • Event registration is not reimbursable; UTA Libraries will submit event registration for all recipients
  • Scholarships may not exceed $5,000
  • All travel is governed by university travel policies and procedures (e.g., receipts required for reimbursement)
    • Scholarship funds may be used for airfare, hotel charges, and meals. Other travel costs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Permission to archive presentation materials in the UTA ResearchCommons is required for scholarship recipients
  • Student presenters are eligible for travel scholarships

OE Global Conference

October 16-19, 2023 (in-person, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

Organized annually, OE Global Conference is the main venue for Open Education practitioners, policy builders, advocates, researchers, students, and decision-makers to share practices, network, and initiate collaborations. Participants collectively discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in open education and share their perspectives on its future direction. We look forward to seeing you there!

Open Education Conference

November 7-9, 2023 (virtual)

The Open Education Conference (“OpenEd”) is an annual convening for sharing and learning about open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open education initiatives.
