This is a student paper example from the APA 7th Edition Manual. You can use this as a guide to get you started. If you want to use this as a template, just overtype the text in the document.
The first thing you will need is citation management software. We recommend Zotero:
Zotero is a citation management software that is open source and free to use. Drag and drop your files into Zotero. The software imports the citation information that is connected to the document. You can then select which documents you want to include on the reference list. Use your APA 7th Edition Reference Examples to double-check that the imported reference and citation is formatted correctly. There are many YouTube videos that will show you how Zotero works:
Next, you will need to double-check that your references and citations transferred from Zotero to Word correctly. This is a necessary step as the citation information imported from the document may still contain errors. To do this, compare your reference list and citations to those listed in this guide.
APA Style Blog
This blog site is run by the American Psychological Association. It will be helpful for those references that do not have a specific example outlined in the guide or reference example list. The blog has a search feature on the right side of the screen. Search for your topic and you will be provided with examples and explanations.
