TeleMe Computer Setup FAQ

Q: Can I use my own Skype account?

A: Yes, but it must be a Skype account and not a Microsoft Skype account. If you chose to use your own Skype, you will need to add utateleme## or utateledriver## as a contact if the person you aren't communicating with doesn't have a Skype account.

 

Q: Can I use a different browser than Chrome?

A: No, other browsers have been tested and Chrome works the best with minimal connection issues.

 

Q: How can I adjust the volume?

A: The TeleMe has a bluetooth speaker at its base. Press the + symbol to increase the volume. The speakers will beep when it's at its maximum level. You can also adjust the volume on the iPad as well.

Q: I can't hear anything from the speakers. What do I do?

A: The light on the speaker at the base of the TeleMe should be blue. If there is no blue light turn off and turn on. The light should now be blue. 

 

Q: What if the TeleMe is damaged or stolen? What do I do?

A: Please inform the UES staff of any damage or if the TeleMe is stolen. You will also need to fill out the Damage, Missing, or Stolen Robot Report Form.

Double Setup FAQ

Q: Can I use a different web browser like Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari?

A: No, the Driver App on the computer is only compatible with Google Chrome.

Q: I'm having problems launching the Double app?

A: The firmware or app may need to be updated. Launch the app and select the Settings gear. Next, choose Firmware UpdateThe next window will allow you to proceed with installing the new firmware. From the Settings, you can tap About to check the App Version. Please make sure that you have the latest app version by simply going to the App Store on your iOS device, and search for "Double Robotics". Sometimes Apple will not push update notifications.

Q: I'm on the map but when I click on the Double icon, I'm unable to connect.

A: If the Double icon is yellow, the Double app is minimized, the iPad is locked or it's not connected to the wifi. If the Double icon is grey, the Double is in use. Someone else is connected to this device. If the icon is black with a line through it, Double is not connected. This usually indicates that Double is not connected via Bluetooth to the iPad.

Q: Why can I call the Double, but not drive it?

A: The Bluetooth may be disconnected. First, turn off both iPad and Double. Once both have completely shut down, turn on iPad only and wait for it to boot up completely.Go to Settings > Bluetooth. We want to make sure that the iPad is in "searching" mode. Now turn on Double and your iPad should be able to discover it and pair.

Q: The Double lost the wifi connection. How do I reconnect it?

A: If the wireless connection is lost, please use the UTA Auto Login to log back in using the login: utadouble​ and the password: ut@doubl3.

Q: I can't hear or see. What is wrong?

A: In order to use the Double, you must have the camera and microphone enabled. On the iPad, go to Settings, then Privacy and select Microphone. After tapping Microphone, make sure that it is enabled for the Double app. To check to see if your camera is enabled, go to Settings, then General  and select  Allow for Camera. 

 

Q: What do the lights on the Double mean?

A: The lights indicate different statuses and issues with the Double. Refer to the table below.
