Telepresence Robots: Double Setup

Telepresence Robot Usage Agreement

In order to check out a telepresence robot, you will need to fill out the Robot Agreement Form. Please click on the link below to fill out the form online. After completing the form, call 817-272-3395 to check out a telepresence robot.

iPhone/iPad Setup

You can drive the Double with an app or a computer.

In order to connect to the Double, you will need to have the following:

  • iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch with internet connection
  • Double Robotics app installed from iTunes store on Apple Device

 

iPhone/iPad : Connect to the Double

Login with the information below:

  • Username: utalibraries
  • Password: h3lpd3sk

Once logged in, you will be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone. Select Allow.

Next, click on the UTA_LIB_Double icon on the map to connect with the Double.

Once connected, the screen will show the camera view of the Double.

Controls for the iPad

  1. End Call
  2. Battery Life
  3. Park Double
  4. Adjust Visibility
  5. Move forward/backward
  6. Turn right/left
  7. Look down using rear facing camera
  8. Adjust height of Double
  9. Adjust speaker volume
  10. You

When done with the call, select End Call or hit the Escape Key. You will be exited out of the driver mode and back to the map screen.

On the map screen, click the blue gear for Settings to log out.

 

Computer Setup

You can drive the Double with an app or a computer.

In order to connect to the Double, you will need to have the following:

  • Mac, PC or Chromebook with internet connection
  • Webcam
  • Google Chrome

Computer: Connecting to the Double

Open Google Chrome and go to the Driver App at https://drive.doublerobotics.com/

Login with the information below:

  • Username: utalibraries
  • Password: h3lpd3sk

Once logged in, you will be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone. Select Allow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next, click on the UTA_LIB_Double icon on the map to connect with the Double.

Once connected, the monitor will change to the camera view of the Double. From the camera view, you will see two control panels.

The control panel in the left hand corner:

 

The panel in the right hand corner adjusts the height of the Double. While driving the Double it is recommended to have the height at its' lowest setting.

The keyboard controls for the Double:

When done with the call, select End Call or hit the Escape Key. You will be exited out of the driver mode and back to the map screen.

Next, click on the utalibraries in the upper right hand corner and select Log Out.
