Another member of the group is Winston, a rescued racing greyhound, and his partner, Pat Jolley. Winston was rescued from Greyhounds Unlimited at 6½ years old. Since that time, he has been in training for life in the real world and is now 9½ years old. Winston was registered with Pet Partners in December 2011 and also has his AKC Good Canine Citizenship certificate and is registered with the R.E.A.D. program.
While both Winston and Pat are retired, they decided to find a way to spend some time visiting others and making new friends. Winston has a gentle, laid-back personality, and he and his partner began making visits to rehabilitation, assisted living, and retirement centers in the Mansfield/South Arlington area in January 2012. He is a big boy, just the right height for those in a wheelchair or confined to a bed. These visits bring great joy not only to Winston and Pat but also to the people they visit. He is often told how handsome he is but has not allowed this to go to his head.
