CHNM uses digital media and technology to preserve and present history online, transform scholarship across the humanities, and advance historical education and understanding.

It brings together work being done in many different departments and centres, including the university's library services, museums and collections

The primary objective of DDH is to study the possibilities of computing for arts and humanities scholarship and, in collaboration with local, national and international research partners across the disciplines, to design and build applications which implement these possibilities, in particular those which produce online research publications.

The HRI's formal mission is...To encourage and explore, through HRI Digital, the application of digital technology to humanities research as both a method of inquiry and a means of dissemination.

Our goal is to explore and develop information technology as a tool for scholarly humanities research.

Enabling the analysis of cultural heritage collections on a large scale, we create frameworks that allow us to develop new methods and tools for the exploration and visualization of digital materials. Our applied research and practice supports curation and publication of data that contributes to improved methodologies for the organization and stewardship of humanities research.

Digital Humanities interprets the cultural and social impact of new media and information technologies—the fundamental components of the new information age—as well as creates and applies these technologies to answer cultural, social, historical, and philological questions, both those traditionally conceived and those only enabled by new technologies.
