The workshop establishes a clear definition for data cleaning before then examining the importance of cleaning research data, the best practices to follow throughout the process, as well as the characteristics of properly cleaned data. In the latter half of this presentation, attendees can follow along with a live demonstration of data cleaning methods using two different tools, Microsoft Excel and OpenRefine.
