Maker Literacies Mini Immersion

Join us for the Maker Literacies Mini-Immersion 

February 23, 2024, 9am-7pm

During this workshop, you will learn about the Maker Literacies and how they can be used to drive learning in maker environments. Up to 20 participants will spend the day learning about the application of the Maker Literacies.  The full cost of attendance is covered, as well as $2000 to purchase maker equipment for your own maker space.

  • Applicant should be affiliated with a U.S. university, college, or other higher education setting. 
  • Applicants should be librarians or other library staff who work with makerspaces
  • Only domestic travel expenses are covered.
  • Receipts and other documentation of maker purchases will be required.

Application

Please complete the linked application.  You will also need to email della.spoor@uta.edu the Non-Employee Expense Reimbursement form (in the required documents section) for your application to be complete.

Maker Literacies Mini Immersion

APPLICATION ARE DUE by 11:59 CST, January 29, 2024.  Accepted participants will be notified by end of day on February 1, 2024.

Required Documents

Hotel Information

Participants will stay at the Hilton Arlington

Once your application is approved we will automatically book your hotel for you.

  

Transportation Information

Participants will be responsible for organizing their transportation to and from the airport, but will be reimbursed after the workshop with proper receipts.

Participants will also be reimbursed for luggage charges.

Transportation to and from UTA Libraries will provided the day of the the workshop.

Food

There will be an optional dinner on February 22nd at a restaurant near the hotel for those who have arrived and are interested in getting to know other participants.  The location is TBD.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be provided on the February 23rd during the workshop.  

Please be sure to denote any allergies or food preferences in the application so that we can make sure to be accommodating.
