GIS Day 2013: ArcGIS Online: Free Cloud-Based GIS: Create Our Own Map

From  ArcGIS.com click 'Map'  (If it brings you to a map we have been viewing, on the top click 'New Map')

Zoom into UT Arlington by searching for University of Texas at Arlington in top right search box.

Change the Basemap as we wish.

We will add three layers:

1. Nursing Homes
2. Median Age
3. Median Household Income

To add data, click 'Add' and select 'Search For Layers'

• Keyword: Nursing
1. HHS Health Resources
2. In the Map Contents view, expand the Labels and Features and uncheck items so only the nursing homes are visible.
• Keyword: Age
1. USA Median Age
2. In the Map Contents view, ensure the nursing homes are visible above the age layer.
• Keyword: Income
1. USA Median Household Income

Save our maps.
