Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC)

UTA Libraries as a Patent and Trademark Resource Center

 

UTA Libraries is also a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC).  The center offers public service that provides free access to patent and trademark information, helping inventors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and the public navigate intellectual property systems in English and Spanish.  UTA Libraries PTRC is part of a nationwide network supported by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), offering access to patent and trademark search tools, guidance on the application process, and educational resources. The main vision of the PTRC at UTA Libraries is fostering innovation and supporting local economic development.

 

The Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) at the University of Texas Arlington is located in the Day Family Research Lab on the fifth floor of the Central Library building.  The UTA Libraries PTRC offers the following supports:

  • Provide instruction to conduct preliminary patent and trademark research by appointment at no charge to the public and the UTA community.
  • One-on-one consultations to help you with, patent, trademark, and copyright.
  • Instruction on locating the information to start patent and trademark applications.
  • Online research guides for entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators.
  • Access to patent and trademark search tools.
  • Assist you in using the USPTO's directory of local patent attorneys.

 

PTRC librarians are available from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
