Here are some resources for searching for the textual histories of a book, as well as bibliographic information on the author. Use these resources to search for various editions of a book, translated editions, out of print editions, etc.

Keyword Search the Library's Catalog

Criticism on a Particular Author's Works in Books

Using the Libraries' Online Catalog select Advanced Search and enter the following:
the author's name inverted: Milton, John
with Search in: Subject heading (contains).
A list of books of criticism about Milton's works will be found under the subject heading: Milton, John, 1608-1674 Criticism and interpretation.
Search by subject using an author's name in order to locate bibliographies on that author: Milton, John, 1608-1674 Bibliography

Finding Collections of Critical Articles in Books

Using the Libraries' Online Catalog, select Guided Search and enter one or more of the following:
Author name in one slot (All of these & Keyword Anywhere) and Norton critical essays sources casebook in another slot (Any of these & Keyword Anywhere).
This strategy finds many of our collections of critical articles on a particular author or literary work, as well as some reference guides.
