How to Locate a Journal Article in UT Arlington Libraries

Exercise:     Find Edward Teller's article about the Industrial Revolution published in
                      the California Management Review journal.

  1. From the Library's Home Page, go to the "orange search" box located in the upper right of the screen.
  2. Click the "Articles" tab.
  3. Click on the "e-Journals" link just below the white search box.
  4. Type in the "journal name" in the box, click "GO" (ex: California Management Review).
  5. On the results screen, click on the "UTA button" to the right of the journal name.  A new window opens.  Note the number of places the journal is available.  Pay attention to the dates and locations for the journal's availability.
  6. In a new window, it states that California Management Review is available from 1958 in EbSCOhost "Business Source Complete."
  7. Click on the "GO" button to the right of the database name.
  8. A new window opens to the California Management Review record in Business Source Complete.  Issues are listed chronologically on the right side of the page.

To Search within the Journal:

  1. Click the "Search within this Publication" link located above the Issues list.
  2. A search window will open with the "Journal's name" in the first search box.
  3. Add the author's last name "Teller" on the 2nd search box. Change the "Select a Field (optional)"  to "AU Author"
  4. Add the keywords "industrial revolution" in the 3rd another search box. (quotes are not necessary).
  5. Click the "Search" button.

In what database will I find this journal?

Professor Jones wants you to read current articles from the following journals:  Academy of Management, Harvard Business Review, International Journal of Stress Management and etc.  Where can you find the journal or journals?  Use "Reference Look Up" to locate what database indexes a specific the journal.
